Founded in 1834, Taras Shevchenko NUK is a leading higher education institution in Ukraine. The University has always been the centre for generations of intellectuals who influenced educational, scientific, political and cultural development of the country. Many of its alumni and academics contributed to the excellence and fame of their Alma Mater. Currently, the University boasts some of Ukraine’s best teaching and research potential. In the diversity of its students, its global outlook, and its outstanding research, it is also a university of constant change. Today Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv comprises:

  • Centres, Library, Museums, Observatory, Botanical Garden, Kaniv Nature Reserve, Recreation & Summer Schools Sites, Student Campus, Sports Centre, Restaurants & Cafeterias, and much more

Over 2,300 academics are engaged with the University, including: over 450 full-time and 147 part-time Professors, 1,272 full-time and 106 part-time Associate Professors.

74 courses are offered in 17 fields of study, and in 38 areas of knowledge More than 24,650 students are doing Bachelor’s, Specialist’, and Master’s courses The Scientific Library of the University holds more than 3 million volumes. There are rarities of the 15th-18th centuries.

The University’s research is an integral part of the educational process. Strong research potential of the University supports high level of instruction, and enhances the quality training for future experts.
